I had never tried a lamb dish before, and to be honest, I had no desire to try one. I have no problem eating meat, but that just did not sound like it would be appetizing at all to me. I have a group of friends who love to eat all kinds of foods, and they finally convinced me to try a lamb dish at a restaurant that has Turkish cuisine in Sydney. I figured one of two things would happen. I would either think it was okay, or I would not like it at all. Either way, it would get them to stop trying to convince me to try it.
Well, neither of those things happened once I got to the restaurant and ordered the Single Lamb Shish kebab. I had never had any kind of kebab before, but I knew that I would like at least the vegetables that were mixed in with this. I love cabbage, tomato and onions, plus there were other tastes in there that I knew I would enjoy. Also, the bread looked to be really good, and it smelled so nice. I had no idea what to expect, but it was not the deliciousness that came after my first bite of it.
It was so juicy and delicious, and I knew that I was a convert from that point on. I had no idea that lamb tasted like this, and I knew that I would be back to try some of their other dishes. I especially wanted to try the chicken and lamb kebabs, because chicken is probably my most favorite meat to eat. I am so glad that my friends bugged me until I caved, because I would not have tried this at all if they hadn’t. I am learning that it is not always to my advantage to be so stubborn!
